The Latest Espresso Design in now available with a staircase. Moms and Dads will love the NEW Stair stepper bunk bed in Espresso. This TWIN over TWIN Staircase Bunk Bed can handle up to a 10 inch mattress on the TOP Bunk and an 8″ in the Trundle Bed. This bed has the same detailed vertical slats all around the top bunk and the top of the staircase. The espresso also has a slightly thicker gauged of wood so it will be a great bed for kids, teens, and adults * with metal center support – recommended when being used by larger teens and adults or commercial applications. 

This bed has the capability to handle a 8 inch thick mattresses on the top bunk and up to an 8″ mattress in the trundle when bed is on hardwood floors. There is also a fully assembled staircase unit with 4 drawers and a magazine rack that is reversible * by you after purchase see step #15 in assembly instructions for direction to change set up orientation. The drawers are approximately 18 x 15, as are the 3 drawers under the bed should you select that option instead of the trundle bed, or select no underbed configuration for an empty space below the bed. But they do have the 4 step finishing process, sanding, espresso staining, sanding, and smooth lacquering. The end result is a smooth shiny finish, that is cleanable simply wipe down with a damp cloth or wood cleaner to remove handprints and small blemishes. These are beds are made of natural solid pine but like a Black car the Espresso beds can display small imperfections, knots and veining more so than other finishes and that is the beauty of a natural product.  

These are very sturdy bunk beds and will last your family for many many years. That being said many people ask us about the weight limits, and we ask them not to get hung up on that illusive number. All of our beds meet the ASTM safety standards which is a 400lb top bed rating ( lower beds and stairs are not rated ). Please know that this is not jumping up and down weight, this is distributed weight, the beds are very strong but please do not think that they will hold a 400lbs person, as there would be no way for that person to get to the lay down position without focusing a lot of weight onto 1 or 2 slats at a time.
